This past October, about 25 folks from Saratoga Presbyterian Church and about the same number from Epocrates participated in an all day project of refurbishing 10 mobile homes in south San Jose. My wife Lynne and I are located above the right sign. More photos are available >here.
Rebuilding Together brings communities and volunteers together to rehabilitate the homes of low income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they may live in warmth, safety and independence. They are a great organization that brings together people of good will, both inside and outside of the faith community. Just before Christmas my wife and I participated with new friends in Redding in a similar outreach, bringing love, compassion, and practical help to a family foster care center in Anderson and building community in the process.
