Encouraging news at our Alain Pinel Realtors sales meeting this morning. Several Realtors reported good open house activity this past weekend with new eager buyers in the market and pent-up demand (compared with the last quarter of 2008, where buyers were sitting on the sidelines).Â
Larry Knapp, Alain Pinel President also announced the opening of a Marin County office(s) with Steve Dickason and Steve Silvestri bringing excited agents on board in large numbers. Specific Marin office locations have yet to be announced. Alain Pinel is growing in what is perceived by others as a downturn market. Perhaps it is partly due to sellers understanding that reputation, stature, proven track record and experience is what is necessary to be successful today.Â
No longer will it do for clients to rely on smaller firms with no marketing clout or relatives with a real estate license who are not activly engaged in the tough work of selling. In looking over the past several months it is clear that very few sellers “got it right” – able to sell their home in a relatively short period of time, close to the list price. Â
Sellers need professional agents who educate them to the realities of the market place and agents who are prepared to do “everything it takes” to get a property sold – market a home so it has maximum exposure and then get the buyer and buyers agent to sit down at the table and make it happen. Â
Smart buyers need to have an agent whom they can trust to negotiate for their interests and to make it happen sooner, rather than later, when the property and timing is just right.
